In my experience? Neither. It is hard for both parties. I think men have a tendency to replace the old flame faster, but after the intial anesthesia wears off, they have to face the fact that they didn't truly deal with the problem of losing a person that he might have loved. I usually get depressed and freak after a break up, but I deal with it as much as I can. By the time I'm over the ex, he usually returns to me (post break up with the rebound girl) and asks me to be a rebound of a rebound so-to-speak. So far, I've been done and it's just over. Maybe I just haven't been truly in love yet. I'm open to that!

Just a thought:

I think age plays a big role in this. Younger men seem to handle breakups much better than older men do. On the other hand younger woman do not handle breakups as well as older woman do.

It's a general misconception that men do, but in fact it's women that handle breakups better.
