As a child, did you ride your bike in thunderstorms or run inside and hide?

We ran inside and would stand at the bay window watching the rain. And when lightening struck we'd see if we could run down the hall into our rooms and jump under the covers before the thunder boomed. If we didn't make it we'd have to fall on the floor. Sometimes, our house looked like Jonestown-the morning after. All of us would be playing dead because we didn't beat the thunder. I know, stupid, silly, but we were kids.

I used to love to ride my bike or go for a walk during a summer thunderstorm. When it's so hot and the summer rain feels so good - how do you stay inside?

I don't remember a whole lot of actual thunderstorms, I remember sit out on the front porch for some, but I did like to ride my bike in the rain....love the smell of pavement from a summer rain...mmmmm.

I blame my stepdad for this.
He came from a place where there were always bad storms and tornadoes and he lived thru alot of devastation due to weather, growing up.......soooooooooooooo
Everytime a dark cloud appeared in the sky he rounded us up and had us all safe and cozy under our beds sometimes for hours it seemed.

It was quite horrible to me and my brothers, we were always scared.

I loved being outside in thunderstorms. The only time I ran for cover was when it began to hail.

Rain never stopped me! It sure beat running inside as my Mom was in there!
