In the majors, no. Wilson's 191 in 1930 is still the standard.

In the minors, yes, at least once. HOFer Tony Lazzeri drove in 222 runs for the 1925 Salt Lake City Bees in the Pacific Coast League.

Note that the PCL played a longer season than did the AL and NL; the '25 Bees finished with a record of 116-84 -- that's a 200-game schedule, perhaps more if there were any tie games (likely, in the days before lights) -- and still finished second.

There may be other instances, but Lazzeri's 222 RBI was (and still is, as far as I can determine) a record.

In 1930 MLB had 154 game schedule, not 162 games and not 156 games.

Hack Wilson of the Chicago Cubs had 191 RBI that season.

Manny Ramirez holds the 162 game record with 165 RBI in 1999.

Nope. The record for RBI's in a season is Hack Wilson who had 191 Runs Batted In in 1930 for the Chicago Cubs.

No.

In 1930 Hack Wilson was coming off his 1929 season when he was the R.B.I. champion.

In 1930 noone expected Hack Wilson to hit 191 R.B.I.'S.

He still holds the single season R.B.I. record.

Renember thier are olny 162 games in a season so to hit 191 R.B.I.'s in a season is amazing.

Hack played for the Cubs when he broke the record.

Hack never had the type of season like he did in 1930.

Hope that awnsers you're question.

Actually, in 1930 they only played a 156 game season, so that 191 is even more impressive.
