I fill the car for 50 euros a tank and that last me just over 1000 km. I fill the tank twice a month. I do use the V-power diesel though which is a tad more expensive but gives much better power and economy. When I drove to the UK at christmas I couldnt find V-power diesel so I had to settle for the basic stuff. That only gives me about 900 km per tank.

So all that works out at about 25 euros per week equivalent to about 18 quid a week.

My husband and I use about 3 tanks of petrol ( roughly 1 and a half tanks per car) - about £130+ on petrol a week

Well, I drive a Honda Civic with an 8 gallon tank and I buy supreme so usually I spend about 30 US dollars a week. I can get almost 300 miles per tank.

Lunatic for sure! I mean, the guy maybe thought he was doing a "godfather" type thing with the pig head, but that's not cool by any means. And I don't really see the humour in that. He obviously didn't intend for his friend to be kicked out of his apartment, but that's the consequence for doing a silly prank. I'm sure the pig smell in the car isn't easy to get out either. I don't understand men. I doubt a woman would ever do something like that, but maybe it's because women think about the consequences of thier actions more often then men. Like I said, it's more likely the guy pulling the prank thought it would be funny and harmless than mean-spirited. Maybe he watches to many fictional movies.

Just put £20 in my 100 NX - that should last a couple of weeks or more because we usually use husband's car. I use mine mostly for odd shopping, doctor/dentist/hairdresser, etc., and going to an evening class some 15 miles from home.

It takes about 50 litres of diesel each fill-up in my Mégane.
We usually go about 3 weeks between fills (about 550-600 miles).
