I am a catholic and for years wondered this question myself.I after much thought have come to the conclusion no sex between two consenting people is not a sin. The church does not agree with this but look at how they have acted over the years.Jesus wants us to respect each other, not hurt another and treat people as we want to be treated. Its a good way to live life.Don't worry about what people think just be a good person,be respectful, helpful and kind.

Yes. Outside the confines of marriage sex is fornication or adultery and it's a terribly severe sin. You should ONLY have sex in a monogamous relationship with your wife AFTER you and she are MARRIED.

Of course what they never tell you is that after you're married your wife will lose all interest in sex and cut you off. You won't be getting any then either. Furthermore as she starts packing on the pounds you won't want it from her anymore anyway. You've got much to look forward to. Have fun.

We were designed to have sex to reproduce. The whole religious slant takes it to a different level though. Possibly it was a way of controlling the population, by making a man commit to a woman rather than spreading his seeds all over the place. Of course through religion it has become correct for us only to have sex if we are married, and that has filtered to people believing they should only have sex if they are in some kind of relationship. One night stands are seen as animal like which takes us back to the days before religion.

according to the bible God created sex, it isnt a sin in the marriage relationship, but outside of marriage it is a sin. Many people would say this is a prudish close minded thought, however God makes things sin because he knows that they will hurt us. Lets face it, how many problems can you see that have come up because of sex outside of marriage. How many people have been hurt because of cheating? How many people have contracted STD's because of sex outside of marriage. How many babies have grown up without fathers or with mothers that were too young to do a good job because of fornication? How many people have been broken hearted due to a broken relationship after having sex with a person. Sex is an awesome gift from God and nothing to be embarrased about but it is best when enjoyed by two people monogomously.

Sex was made by God for a celebration of love between married partners. Singles have grabbed it up with greedy hands and turned it into fornication which was never meant to be in God's plan. Fornication is a sin. Adultery is a sin. Sex is NOT a sin - but remember that sex is describing a love act between a husband and wife, married partners or whatever else you use to describe a lawfully married man and woman.

If you are talking about sin then I assume that you are open to hear from the Bible on this one. In the Bible sex is described as sin when it takes place outside of the Bonds of Marrriage, if you are married and having sex with you spouse then its not a sin.

Sex with someone you love is not a sin. But having sex with a bunch of different people without love...I could say that is a sin.

Catholicism fundamentals will state that sex for enjoyment is a sin. Sex is permissable only if it's performed for the sake of procreation. Sex, per se, is not sinful. Just depends on the context.

For those who claim no one waits to have sex until their wedding night; I did and am so glad. Sex is for only after your married.
By the way, I was married at 25. It is possible to control your hormones.
