The Secret is based on the laws of attraction, negative thinking attracted more negative and positive thinking attracts more positive. It's just the natural order of the universe and since I've come to understand it, my life has gone much smoother. The trick is using your mind correctly and not interfering with what you really want. Your friend is very lucky, I wouldn't have "never" in my statement...that's a negative. I would say "I am healthy"...those statements seem to work better. I stopped a very serious health problem meditating on positive words...like the problem had already fixed itself....(thank you for my healthy, functioning body, etc.) Being in a state of gratefulness instead of focusing on what you don't have helps you manifest the positive as well.

It's nothing more then the power of positive thought. If you think positively about a situation you get more clear plans of action for change. You constantly repeat your mantra to your self and "believe" it, then in your everyday life you will consciously or subconsciously take actions that further your goal. If you get sad and "woe is I" and don't do anything about your problem then it just gets worse.
To the people who don't know you can rent "the secret" from your local video store or buy the book of the same title.

I have a copy of the Secret, and it does talk a lot of sense. Its message is that the things which happen in your life, are a result of what you think. You attract into your life, the physical manifestation of the thoughts you think.
I have had numerous examples of this:
* When I was a student, I needed somewhere to live for my second year, but there was nothing going. No places available, and no housing 'machinations' for me to fit into. I began to affirm that " my housing is sorted, everything is fine, I am provided for " and so on. Result: I found a house after a couple of weeks, with some quirky companions who have become firm friends.
* A few years ago, I had a period of negative thinking and feeling bad about myself. Result: I was beaten up badly.
* Lying in the hospital bed, nursing my injuries, I decided to think myself back to full health by repeatedly thinking thoughts about health and healing quickly. Result: I healed very quickly, in half the time the doctors said my injuries would take to heal.
* I was at a pretty low ebb after the incident. Life had dried up and nothing much was happening. I started to deliberately think good thoughts again, and make a conscious effort to feel good about myself again. Result: life began to perk up, I began to feel a lot happier, and after a few months, I had a completely new set of friends.
* Last year, after another dry spell of not feeling good about myself, I began to think some blatant positive thoughts about my own positive qualities andpersonal attractiveness. Result: I attracted a quality admirer who was very blatant in her appreciation of me.
There are probably a lot of examples of this in your life too. I have found that the periods in my life when I have been happiest, have been when I am making a conscious effort to think positively about life and myself.
Try it today, think some blatantly positive thoughts about your life. Keep at it, and do it for a sustained period of time. Very soon, you will begin to experience improvements in your feelings of yourself, and your life circumstances.
Just remember to KEEP AT IT, once you have started. That way you build a kind of PSYCHIC MOMENTUM where one success builds upon another. It is like a virtuous cycle.
YOUR LIFE IS LIKE A BLANK CANVAS: DECORATE YOUR BLANK CANVAS AS YOU WISH, AND CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO GREATNESS.

I was told 'The Secret' is that by which Christ was tempted in the desert, that by spiritual attainment one could have mastery over all material concerns. Hence spiritual masters making shed-loads of money etc.
It is the last temptation before Christ consciousness.
I was told this in open air, and i have told it on.

The secret of life, now there is an interesting dilemma!
The secret of life is what you are prepared to believe.
Believe in it totally and your mind is able to move mountains.
There you go.

I think you may be asking if another person's personal life should be an open book. If a person chooses to share their innermost thoughts and fears with another, OK, but I don't believe that anyone should just expect it.

"The Secret" is nothing more than a cleverly crafted marketing scheme.
It has no basis in science.
The way to get results in your life is to work hard for the things you want.
Before you start "believing" in something, make sure you've heard both sides of the story.
Skeptic Magazine would be a good place to start.

This seems to be something a lot of us could do with. I realise it's a secret, but could you at least tell us where to find out about it please?
