I was diagnosed last year with PCOS and was scared too. But the great news is that you can still have children!!! I was on Metfomin and then started Clomid in Jan. Then found out in March that I was expecting...I was shocked I didn't expect it to happen. But talk to your doctors closely if you do get pregnant ask them about Metformin, i was taking it till 13weeks to help prevent miscarriage, i am now at 19 weeks and 3 days. Best of Luck to all my PCOS sisters out there, it will happen.
P.S Make sure you know your ovulation time mine was day 19 of my cycle. i used the bbt charting and ovulation predictor kits. Try to get some pre-seed a sperm friendly lubricant!! Send you all ******Baby Dust******

Hey,
my doctor thinks that I may have PCOS as well..but he told me that this problem was the easiest to fix. (that was very encouraging to me!!)
He prescribed Prometrium (a progesterone, similar to Provera) to jump start my period. He recommends Prometrium since it's a natural progesterone, just like your body produces.
I took this for one month...and it actually helped me become regular and I conceived the second month. =)
I don't know if I actually have PCOS...(the only symptom I really have is the irregular periods)...or if my hormones were off whack from going off BC. (although I do have a history of irregular cycles.)
My doctor recommended that I try Metformin. It's actually a diabetic medicine that's often given to those with PCOS because it's linked to regulating ovulation. He was going to have me try this for a few months. If I wasn't pregnant he would add clomid to the mix. (He didn't want me to go on clomid alone since my hormones wouldn't support a pregnancy.)
Provera isn't really linked to regulating ovulation...although it sometimes triggers it. (Like Prometrium did for me the following month!) Ask about going on Medformin...and possibly even clomid after a few months.
Try not to worry too much. Lot's of people have children even with PCOS! =)

I've never been diagnosed with PCOS, but anything is possible. I would discuss with your doctor what he/she suggests and what your chances are to conceive another child.

I know a woman who had 3 children and she had pcos. I think it really depends on the severity of the disease. Good luck.

calm down, it is not the end of the world, I also have pcos and currently ttc. try the provera to see if you ovulate, keep in close contact with your doctor while your ttc & make her test you to see if you ovulate normally.

I have friends who have had babies with this diagnosis. It may help to do temperature tracking. I've recently started doing this and it's pretty easy. I use www.fertilityfriend.com to keep track of my results. Good luck to you.
