So 4/(x+2) = ?/((x+2)(x+1))
Do the cross multiplying thing:
4(x+2)(x+1) = ?*(x+2)
Divide both sides by (x+2) and distribute:
4x+8 = ?
so 4x+8 is the answer.

I don't get it but I will give it a try.

I think what you are trying to say is that you need a quadratic equation that is equivalent to (X+2)(X+1)

You do the *FOIL method and combine the similar terms

*FOIL - Multiplying the First part, the outer part, inner part and last part.

Thus the answer would be x(squared)+3X+y(squared).
