It means the state (prosecution) has completed presenting their side of the case. The defense begins to present evidence until the rest (are finished). Then each side gives their closing arguments, Basically a speech by the lawyers. Then the jury (or judge if there is not a jury) decides the case.

Babylon is where the languages were confused and people scattered from, carrying with them many of the same beliefs that distorted over time but are still similar. Almost every culture has a flood legend which many say the bible copies from, but if you read any of the accounts, the bibles version is the most realistic and explains why we have 3 main racial categories of humans. Also, all the earliest remnants of human civilization are in the Middle East. A Protestant minister wrote a book called The 2 Babylons. His purpose was to show that the Catholic Church was Babylon the great. Like you, I don't believe that either. His book did show some interesting old woodcut pictures that showed crosses being used long before Christ, the prevalence of triads or 3 main gods, and even a fish head costume that looks just like the mitre hat worn by cardinals. The bible says Babylon the great committed fornication with all the kings of the earth and that the merchants cried over her death. In other words, it cared more about power and its survival with the ruling authorities than being loyal to God Only worldwide religions period fit this category. Almost every nation except communist ones usually has a main or state religion. Sometimes the governments persecute others if they're different. It's hard to be Muslim in a Christian country and hard to be Christian in a Muslim one. Jesus Christ said that people must worship God with spirit and truth, not just the way they want to that many believe. Please read what he told the Samaritan woman at the well in John chap 4. He also said in Matthew chap 7 that there were 2 roads, a wide one and a narrow one. Only the narrow led to life. Please examine all beliefs to see if they're supported by the 1st century Christians and truly follow Jesus s teachings.

The State is the entity prosecuting in criminal cases tried in state court. They go first in the trial and must put on their case. When they are finished they rest.
