This is a difficult one. As I understand it I would take it as a compliment.
In my botany books fragrant implies "nice smelling" and I think malodorous would have to be the opposite. The truth be told, you are the only one that can tell us whether you are "nice smelling" or where when that observation was voiced.

First off, when anyone make a comment about your smell, that CAN'T be good.
Hardest tried to be polite, the word came up was "fragrant".
Very often, people w/ BO can't smell it by him/herself.
..or could it be tonsil stones/ tonsillolith? In that case, i suggest that you seek professional advice.

Sure...depending upon what fragrance the one complimenting is referring to. If they are referring to lilacs...ok. But if the one complimenting is referring to a pile of dung...I wouldn't be so quick to feel complimented.

If you smell good then yes
if you smell like a dogs behind, then no.
