The coin that I have is in better condition than the picture. I was wondering if you can get anything for the coin or should I wait a couple years.

The 1 Deutsche Mark from the link grades at best a VF, and not AU-50 like stated. So if your 1950-D coin looks better than that then I'd put it a grade above at EF, which has a value of $12 according to the Standard Catalog of World Coins(reference number KM#110). Coins under grade EF or XF must exhibit sharp details and traces of original luster. The coin sells better in Germany, but dealers would pay almost half of the book value to buy from you because they need to make a profit from resale.

It's a "buy it now" auction so you could only get the asking price.
