(1/square root of a) = 1/a^(1/2) or a^(-1/2)

The expression simplifies to log[a^(-1/2)]

If its base a, the expression simplifies to -1/2.

log(base a) 1/sqrt(a)

= log(base a) 1/a^1/2

= log(base a) a^-1/2

= -1/2log(base a) a

= -1/2 (1)

= -1/2

I am assuming you mean log(base a) ( 1/sqrt(a) ).
1/sqrt(a) = a^(-1/2).
The logarithm is therefore -1/2.
