There would be a lot of changes if I were president. First, no spending bill in Congress would survive a veto if the spending was not authorized by the Constitution. That would drastically cut the federal budget (probably by 80%).

Second, there would be no foreign entanglements unless a vital U.S. interest was at stake. Therefore, troops would be pulled back from all over the globe and returned home.

Third, the border would be secured. The troops returning home would monitor the border until a fence and security could be put in place. But, the border would be secured immediately and the "bleeding" from illegal immigration would be stopped.

Fourth, the Supreme Court would be returned to its proper role. This means that, certainly Constitutonalist judges would be nominated, as openings came up; but it also means that if the Supreme Court makes an unconstitutional ruling, they would have to enforce it on their own, because the executive branch would not do so.

I would try to rule the world. I would say that terrorists are out to get us to keep the sheep cowed. Announce who the evil doers are, attack one of them, then gradually take over the others after the first. This is only after repealing the rights of my own citizens, and claiming executive privilege whenever someone attempts to look into my affairs. Next up, if my party still has control of congress, I would try to remove the term limit for presidency. If that fails, I can always fall back on the wealth gathered from my corporation in the profit generating scheme, otherwise known as war.

I start by hiring competent people, and be willing to accept that some may disagree with what I think and change my mind if the arguments were strong enough. Something the current person has done none of.

-Build more medical facilities for mentally ill criminals--not jails/prisons where they get no treatment
-End starvation & homelessness in this nation--the US has enough food to go around--and could easily build more housing
-Raise awareness of environmental issues
-Do whatever I needed to do to bring our troops home
-Make certain that every citizen got medical care
-Make certain that the deceased got buried--regardless of ability to pay
-Encourage a strong third party
-Enact terms for all elected officials
-Protect our land and air space to ensure no further terrorist attacks
-Make at-home jobs (and necessary equipment) available for parents--so that they would not find it necessary to use daycare for young children--or school simply for a babysitter
-Keep '...under God...' in the Pledge--it's part of our history
-Encourage people to value nature and the arts
-Fix schools--most of them are now unacceptable; dangerous places for teachers and students
-Get together with world leaders often--to compromise whenever possible--and to try to talk things out
