I live in NJ and saw on the site that it is a 50 question test. If a person fails, could they take it over again? Also, what are the details that I need to study in particular? Thanks.

Taking the test is easier than staying alive on a bike if you do not take the gaining of knowlege and education seriously. If you do not take the time and effort to study, learn, and master the skills necessary for riding you may as well just walk out in front of a bus and get it over with, because you have a good chance of dying on a bike if you are the kind of person who want's every thing quick and easy. There is no detail you do not need to know. The little you get from the drivers test at the local drivers license place is the very bare minimum and will not prepare you to be a skilled rider. Spend $200 and take a Motorcycle Safety Foundation course or don't bother trying to ride. I don't mean to bust you chops but I'm getting sick of seeing new guys getting killed and making it harder for those of us doing the right thing. My little brother ignored my advice as I'm sure you will too. I'll miss him forever. R.I.P. Bruce.

I live in NJ as well and personally didn't find it very difficult. If you study the book half way decently you should pass fairly easily and if you do fail you can take it over again. Since there are different versions of the test it's hard to say what you should study on the most so just try to cover the whole book. And also if you can ride a bike and rent a scooter you can probably pass the road course portion of the test especcially if you practice maneuvers before hand.

Your state should have special motorcycle rules pamphlet that is available. I know I was able to find one and download it off the internet for my state. Just read that and it should be a piece of cake. Even without reading it, you will probably get a fair number right.

The driving test is more of a challenge if you have never ridden before, or are taking the test on a large motorcycle.

Most states accept the MSF Basic course as a license waiver, and that will get you through both the written and driving portion of the license (on thier bikes). It is an excellent course, I recommend you take it.

My boyfriend took the test with having no knowledge whatsoever of riding and he passed. If you fail, you can take it a few times a year. I suggest you just take the class, because riding a motorcycle on the streets can be very dangerous.

Depends on where you live. In Texas it will cost you $200+ and 3 days (safety course) before you can get a license

spend the $200 and take the MSF course... if you're worried about the test.. you probably need training.
I know people who have passed the 1st time... I know people who have failed 5 or 6 times.... depends on how you take tests.

Take a couple of practice tests.
They're just common sense questions you should already know if you have an auto drivers license.
