Arod would have won if he played in the all-star game? I dare to challenge you on that. He may be a big time homerun hitter, but I say under that line of thinking then the final round of the derby would have been Pujols vs Vlad instead of Alex Rios (not to take anything away from him) vs. Vlad.
I agree with the others who say Ichiro did deserve it. I'd say going 3-3, and hitting a inside the park 2 run homer in a 5-4 ballgame is hard to top. It's much easier to trot around the bases when the ball lands in the seats then it is to run full speed all the way around like someone is chasing you.

Are you kidding? Do you even know anything about baseball? Ichiro went 3 for 3 and had the first ever inside-the-park homerun in the All-Star game. Jose Reyes is in the NL. Why would someone on the loosing team get the MVP?

Ichiro was 3 for 3 with an inside the park home run! He deserved to get it. Reyes had a good game but the MVP goes to a player on the winning team.

I agree with done1973. There shouldn't be an MVP. But Suzuki was as good a pick as any if you ask me. He had an incredible game!
A-Rod didn't want to risk hurting injuring his hamstring so he stayed out of the HR Derby to play in the all-star game.

3 for 3 in and All-star game against the best pitchers the NL has to offer (Of course he didn't bat against Penny or Saito.)?
Hitting the FIRST EVER inside the park HR in and ASG?
Being on the WINNING TEAM?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
Jose Reyes was on the NL team (which lost) and barring absolutely horrible performances from everyone on the AL team had very little chance to win the MVP.

what? has it right. 3-3 with an inside the parker (the first ever in an all-star game) and he played on the winning team. Players on the losing team don't deserve to be named MVP. If they were the most valuable player, their team would have won the game.

There shouldn't be an MVP award in all-star games. Nobody plays the whole game and everybody is an all-star...so what VALUE are they talking about? Usually, whoever hits the go-ahead homerun gets the award because there is no other way to determine it.

first of all Reyes couldn't get it his team lost. Secondly many people have had three hits in an asg, but never has there been an inside the park homerun.

He deserves it. Also, Ichiro is one of the world's best baseball players. He could be beat McGuire's home run average (1 home run every 10.6 at bats) but he is not interested.
