i want to buy wood for making furniture how can i know how much wood i requre i dont want to ask carpenter?

You are starting with a pattern, aren't you? Somewhere in the instruction sheets, it will tell you how much you need of everything to construct the project,

You just add up the sizes of the pieces you need multiplied by how many. Of course you would have to know how the wood is supplied, i.e. 2X4's or 4' X 8' sheets or in planks.. etc. Then just do the math.
