how do u make a basic granny stitch?

I just want 2 know how 2 make a granny stitch not a granny sruare or all that crap just a basic granny stitch. I've been looking all over the internet and cant find it. I can find how 2 make a granny sruare but not a basic granny stitch. Please tell me how or give me a site that will.

Are you talking about a slip stitch like crocheting? Or is it a granny stitch with a thread and needle?

If you work with two strands, just tie a knot, like in your shoe laces, the first half, and tie the same knot again, and again, and.........
