University of Vermont, University of Virginia.

Any Top 25-50 school as determined by US News, etc.

The top 10 or so liberal arts colleges.

The "Little Ivies" refers to a list of the better liberal arts colleges.

There is no official list. Wikipedia gives a short list of Northeastern colleges that fit the description. I'd add schools like Carleton College in Minnesota, Collorado College, any of the Claremont Colleges in California and any of the (remaining) Seven Sisters in the list.
