Poland: Electricity
220 volts AC, 50Hz; continental sockets.
So you need a converter, and I am told that places like walmarkt have them.
Any shop selling electric equipment should have them, as do the shops on the airports that specialize in things traveling people need. But better not wait till the last moment.

Hi!
Poland does not use 220V anymore. Few years ago they changed 220V to 240V - but it does not make any difference for most of appliances.
If you do not use a transformer to reduce 240V to 110/120V in many cases you will burn the device you have.
Some devices (e.g. laptops, external hard drives, phone/camera chargers, and some hair dryers too) operates in range 110-240V, so all you need is a plug adapter to use them.
You may want to check the label on the devices you want to take with you to see the voltage range they accept... as long as you are not taking your TV, Refrigerator or light bulbs with you, you may be fine with a plug adapter.
If you need to buy a transformer – do not pay for it more, then approximate price of a new device you want to use it with! Just buy a new device when you get there.
Have fun in Poland! :-)

I say just get a universal plug adapter. I got one in Poland, worked for all appliances.
In the US, you can get one at the closest Radioshack or electric store. For example, here's an adapter for three bucks:

or this one

Just ask for a foreign/ universal plug adapter.
