I am a teen, and had played baseball for 7 years. I got a lot of crap being the only girl on my little league team. The first practice of every season, all the boys would go, "she can't play".

The second practice they all went "dang she can play".

My first season of playing pony league was in the fall. Where I played they got a choice to play up a stage or stay down, well most of them decided to play down. So in those words "I got creamed". That was my last season playing baseball, because they were just to fast, and quick. And, my coach was a select coach also, and he had a girl on his select team, not the fall one, and HE HATED ME. Every time someone would throw a bad ball at me that I COULDN"T catch, he blamed me. That was the only season I ever wanted to quit.

I now play softball, and I am so ahead of them it's not funny. Although I miss baseball terribly, I love softball too.

I want to play baseball one more season on the spring, because they will all be MY age.

The realistic part of me says no. I once asked my brother that question and he told me that no self-respecting man would want to pitch inside to a woman, or ram her down at home plate trying to score on a close play. Like someone before me said, she'd probably have to be an AL pitcher. And while women are not "physically inferior" (as one chauvinistic idiot before me said) they are, in general, a lot smaller. She'd be half the size of a lot of these ML players. So while it would be nice, I don't think it will happen.

Eh, it's not all bad that only men play MLB. I certainly do enjoy watching them play (**wink wink**)

There's a woman on her way to become a Major League umpire.

She ump'd the 2006 Futures game.

As for players,
if she can pitch 90+ constantly and hit the zone, then I could see a team having an open eye for her.
But can she handle the stress of being in a clubhouse with 24 other men, travel 81 game, post season, preseason, and such?

Will the clubs be willing to accommodate a female in the clubhouse?

If she's a pitcher, I could see her being in an AL club.

Sorry but the answer is no. In 1952 a minor league baseball team planned to sign a female baseball player named Eleanor Engle as a shortstop. On June 21, 1952 organized baseball officially banned all feminine performers from playing professional baseball. To my knowledge this ban has not been lifted. Although I have heard of women playing on some minor league teams every now and then.

There were two girls in our local Little League. Both made the All Stars. Both were among the best players on their respective teams. Eventually, a very talented girl will grow up and develop her skills to the point that she can compete at the MLB level. Think at least one or two decades into the future.

Thank you for the question, titanic fan. Yes, there will be a woman in the majors, when one learns how to throw like a man. However, the next woman that i see that throws like a man will be the first.

If she can hit .300 with power, or throw 95+mph with a good curveball, I would say yes.
