That is odd. Here is Alaska (I don't know about the rest of the states) KFC has an ATM. This is really weird, but you have to go to the ATM and use your card. You don't get money, you get a piece of paper and then you take that paper to the cashier, order your food, give cashier the paper and then he/she gives you change back from whatever your paper says. The last time I went I was buying for several people working in my church, so I hit up the ATM for $40, got my paper, got in line and ordered. The total was $36, so I gave the cashier my paper and she gave me $4 change. It was weird, because I had to guess what my total was going to be and of course couldn't change my mind once I got in line, since I only had $40.
I don't know why they can't have a regular ATM that gives out real money or at least take cards at the register. Wouldn't it have emptied their register if I had taken out $100 from the ATM and then only ordered about $20 worth of food? This is such an odd way to do it.

First of all, KFC might not be good for you, but its very nice! Secondly, not having a credit card system saves them money because they don't have to subscribe to Barcleycard Business, or some other similar company. Multiply this saving by how many outlets they have worldwide, and they'll probably save millions a year. Thirdly, as a previous post has already mentioned, cash is much easier to fiddle than credit card transactions!!!

Don't you ever have any cash in your pocket? Any business like KFC have to pay a percentage to the card company every time a credit or debit card is used. What KFC are saying is they are not prepared to sell at a discount so it is cash only.I can't say I blame them. What stops you drawing out say £50or £100 to have in your pocket for these sort of expenses.

Because they are all cheaply run franchises.
Please take a look at the following site. It may give you some more serious questions about KFC, than whether or not they accept card payment....

From my experience, They usually hire people who can't speak English, so many their staff can't handle a credit transaction.
