I always like happy people around me when I'm sad because then they can always cheer me up when I'm down. Like my friends, they do the same. But sometimes I want to avoid it and just sit around in the house all day long so I can think of what I did or what made me feel this way, but it has to make me feel really sad to make me feel THAT way. You know? But most of the time, I'm happy with life and I always love to share my happiness with the world. And that's why I joined Yahoo! Answers. What about you? Do you feel the same way I do or is it something else? I hope this answers your question well! Have a nice day and don't forget to smile!!! :o)

I have to say I feel the same as "ByGraceAlone" , that is how I will answer, it depends on what is on my mind and how sad I am, or how deep in depression. If it is just below the surface, then I can bounce out of it with family and freinds who are happy and having a good time, but if it's bad then it will take more than a few laughs.

Guess when I am sad I tend to avoid happy people for a couple of reasons, 1, would not want to make them miserable just because I am and I know that if I am happy and people around me are sad then that makes me sad too. and 2, because if I am sad then their happiness will only make me sadder that I cant feel happy too, also people expect me to be happy and so I dont want to worry them if I am not.

It really depends on what is making me sad, because depending on the situation, I'll do both.
When a friend of mine died in March, I just wanted to be alone, and if not alone, then with people who were just as sad as I was. But when I broke up with my boyfriend, I wanted to go shopping or out to dinner or ANYTHING with my friends, who were happy and cheerful.
I guess the reason for what's making me sad is the determining factor.

I avoid everyone. I actually perfer to be by myself and my thoughts. I then write whatever is on my mind down in a journal. I hate hearing people always ask whats wrong, or cheer up. So I don't want to be around happy people. Infact, that just makes me angry that they wont leave me alone when I would tell them if I wanted to. So I go off and write it down.

It really depends which i choose or avoid...if i feel like reaching out to others then i would seek happy people but if i just want to sink in my own sadness then i would choose to avoid people altogether...

I avoid happy ppl and evryone else for that matter. I'll hang at my apt and listen to sad music and let myself be sad Alone w/ my thoughts so I can work it out.

I tend to avoid happy people. I think this is because when I am sad, I'm jealous of their happiness and they sometimes grate on my nerves.
I'm glad I'm happy most of the time. :D

I do not avoid people but if i meet sad people i will quickly find out that they have more reasons to be sadder than me and make me come back to earth.
