ok well the X1950PRO i was going to get is not selling at newegg anymore so i wanted it for counter strike becuz i heard it got over 200FPS so these are the new cards i am thinking about which is best
Radeon HD 2600XT 256MB 128-bit GDDR4 PCI Express x16
Radeon X1950GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP
GeForce 8600GTS 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP
and i was not looking for a DX10 card i know that the first and last cards are DX10 so dont go by if it is DX10 go by best for CSS

They will all get excellent FPS in CS:Source.
I would go for the 8600gts mainly because it will be better for newer games. I know you said "go by best for CSS" but I can guarantee you CSS will not be the only game you play.
Besides, anything over 100fps is pointless anyhow. Your eyes can't even distinguish between 60-100 fps.

I have always preferred GeForce, mainly because they have better Linux drivers. That may not matter to you now, but it might later.
I have a GeForce 8600 and it is a very nice card, I have no complaints. Plus the Direct X support can't hurt. Some of the new games coming out for it soon look wonderful.

8600GTS would be the fastest, X1950GT comes close and HD2600XT is last.
