How old are babies when they start to hold on to toys and other things? My daughter is 7 weeks old and wont hold onto anything except someones fingers. Also when will she start holding her bottle on her own?

It will be a little while yet. Right now her holding a finger is instinct. When you press the middle of her palm, her fingers close tightly. It is a protective instinct that babies are born with. In about a month, her hands will relax, and she may not want to close them for anything. At around 3 months, they begin to notice their hands. This is the fun part, She will be amazed at the simple sight of her little hands as the magicly appear in front of her, and be captivated at the movements she can make them do. She may start to shake them up and down, or open and close them obcessivly just to see what happens. This is when she may start holding toys and such. Especially the ones with fum texture or make sounds when moved (rattles). As far as the bottle goes, it really varies a lot. Some babies are just so playful they would rather bat at it, making feeding quite the challenge for mom and dad. Others have no interest in it at all, and others still will practicly take it out of your hand, especially if you take too long getting the nipple in their mouth. All in all, it really varies from baby to baby, but it is so much fun when they do. Good luck with your little girl, and enjoy every minute! They grow up sooo fast!

You probably have a ways to go for either of those..especially the bottle. The toys maybe around 3 months and I think the bottle is usually 6-8 months...sometimes even later..

That is so cute... i suggest you get a book about infants and toddlers so you can follow her development and growth...every child has it's own pace, but usually around 6/7 months they start holding their bottles, or you can encourage her to do so whenever you think she's ready...
Enjoy your baby, they grow up too fast...

Usually a few months babies have more motor control.. It's also not a good idea to let a young baby to hold a bottle on his or her own. .They could choke and you would never know...Wait until they are a bit older.

my girl started at 41/2 months. i was wondering when she would around that time and then a coupla days later.. boom she jsut started doing it.it was neato. she doesnt hold her own bottle yet. shes 5months . i am under the impression that even at this age they still cant really grasp onto bigger things ( bottle size) i could be wrong but i do know that she wouldnt know to tilt it even if she could hold it now.
