I truely believe the Yankees will have a much better 2nd half than they did in the first...
Your question will hover around whether Papi is going to miss significant time and when will Schilling come back. If Papi is out for a long time, then you have to hope for Youk & Lowell to keep having a good year and for Manny to turn it around.
Dice K needs to pitch like the $100 million that they paid for him, and either Lester or someone else is going to have to step up.
I think the Sox will hold on in the end...even though I am a Yankees fan. But I do think the Yanks are going to make you very uncomfortable.

I hope the Red Sox win it all. The thing is, back in 1978, the Red Sox had a 12 game lead in August and the Yankees came all the way back to tie on the last day and they had a play-off game where Bucky Dent hit a game winning homer to win the division and to go onto the World Series. Also remeber that the Red Sox had a 3-0 deficit in the play-offs a few years ago against the Yankees and they came back to win the ALC and the World Series. So anything can happen.

Yes , absolutly they're ten games up. I'm from Toronto and love the jays, hence hate the Red Sox, but realistically, the Sox will win for sure. I mean the Jays stay healthy they could challenge, if you look at their lineup when healthy it's dangerous. Here they are when healthy 1. Rios 2. Hill 3. Wells 4. Thomas 5. Glaus 6. Overbay 7. Johnson 8. Zaun 9. Mcdonald/Clayton. They have great offense and their pitching has been great so they can compete. But I don't see anyone over taking those damn Red Sox!

The Red Sox would have to have a really bad losing streak combined with a strong Yankee or Blue Jays winning streak. The way those teams are playing, I just don't see that happening.

The only way i Can see the SOX loosing the East is if they forget how to play baseball. They are up 10 games, even if they play .500 baseball they should win it. I can't wait to see the Yankees finally loose a Division title, they won't even make the playoffs.

the red sox have too good a roster and are too far ahead at this point to blow their lead. even if they yankees or blue jays have a strong second half, the red sox will still win the division. they are looking good to do well in the playoffs too.

The Red Sox will most certainly win the AL East. The only way they don't win is if they don't win another game this season.

why do you "need to know" if they are?
What kind of proof do you feel you will get from a bunch of people whose hopes and dreams may ride on them winning or losing?
If someone is a red sox fan, they will win the world series, if they are a Yankee fan, Yanks will come back and win it all.
