I wan't to buy a pewter chain and i want to know if it will rust off if i let it stay in water or will it change it's colour??

Pewter dos not contain iron, it will not rust. It may corrode in salt water. What is your purpose for putting it in water? It is not a strong alloy for chain.

Try looking at this. Someone said it doesn't rust, but can become "pitted".

It doesn't "rust" but it can oxidize just like silver and turn black.
