AMEN. If everyone is so scared about the sanctity and value of marriage being destroyed, why not outlaw divorce? I know a myriad of divorced couples. I know gay people, I know religious people, I know religious gay people, and I know that marriage is between the people getting married. Just because 2 people are of different sexes doesn't make them more committed, more loyal, happier in a marriage! Hey, I am a spiritual person, I know what the bible says. Back in 30 A.D., things were a little different. The bible also says that women shouldn't ever wear makeup and they should keep their hair in braids. Back in the day, this made sense for many reasons, as did sex stipulations on marriage. The bible was written by humans. Not God.

There should be no "dominant" person in a marriage. A successful marriage is a partnership where the power is divided up equally.

I think it's very important for neither person to be dominant. Equal partnerships are more likely to last longer and be a happier experience for both parties. It's common for each person to become somewhat more dominant in certain areas due to natural interest and ability, but each person should value the others opinion in all matters.

I think that depends on the couple.

And people I don't think it means dominant in the literal sense.
More of, each of the persons in the relationship are either dominant or submissive personality wise. Though in any relationship each will no when to back down or step up which ever the case may be. If each doesn't give their share of both personalities then one or both will become resentful of the other.

Marriage is based on understanding and mutual partnership. Neither partner should try to dominate the other, it will only end up in a sorry marriage.

No. A marriage is a partnership and so both partners should be equal. When one person dominates a marriage, the other person will never be his or her true self and is not being nurtured.

Oh sweetie, did you ask the right question. Women should be and are the dominant person in marriages. It is so nice to be in charge of everything and to allow my husband to sometimes sample my pleasures to keep him in line. You go girl.

Dominant means ruling, governing, or controlling; having or exerting authority or influence; being in a commanding or elevated position.
Doesn't sound like a good marriage to me.

we are evolved from cavemen, ive noticed that women want to be clubed over the head a dragged back to the cave they want to be protected, this is why women regard the nice guy that treats them right and respects them as " oh hes like a brother" while they date the dirt bag bad boy that treats them like s**t and beat them, i have also noticed that when a woman wears the pants in a relationship they have no respect for their husband, these are the reasons that a lot of women and i mean A LOT have a rape fantasy, yet few women have a fantasy about their husband wearing a french maid outfit

A marriage is about two becoming ONE.

There should be no dominance.

If there is, it tends to indicate an issue of ego.
