Is there anything like Google Mini that is cheaper or free?

My boss has asked me to try to find something that has Google Mini capabilities without the hefty $2000+ price. Basically, he wants everyone in the office to be able to search our server using a user-friendly desktop search engine (like Google Desktop, but for servers). Any ideas?

Your question is way too vague. What file server software do you use? Windows or Linux server? Etc.
