my windows had just updated and restarted the notebook by itself- i went to restart and log on- i got to the desktop and then shortly therafter- the blue screen of death as my computer friends call it- popped up and told me it was going to dump my physical memmory- i have tried everything to fix this including clearing the hardrive and my notebook is still finding problems- anyone want to take a stab at this?

It may be a hardware issue or overheating. You should have it serviced under warranty or replaced for the same model. Sounds like you ruled out software issues.

the only way to fix it is to reinstall your operating system. most laptops tend to not come with a backup cd and say that you should have burned one for yourself. this happened to me, and i never took the time to burn a copy of my system. i had an xp, so i figured ill upgrade to vista while im at it. it took about 40 minutes to install. all your files from xp are moved to a folder called windows.old. it took me a while to get things where i wanted them, but at the same time i ended up deleting lots of junk on my hard drive. now i have an awsome laptop with vista. the only downside is that i had to pay a lot to buy the vista disk. good luck.

my brothers 6000 did that and it had a faulty hard drive
