Being insecure doesn't make you a bad person at all. Many people are insecure and have different ways of showing it. Why not work on getting rid of your insecurities little by little. We all have some things we feel a bit insecure about, maybe it's our looks, the way we're dressed, speaking to people we don't know well, etc. It's a human thing. You can overcome most of your insecurities if you work at it. You should make a list of all of your good qualities and take a look at them. I'm sure you have many and those should help give you a boost. Being around confident people can also help you to come out of your shell. We all have good qualities and things we are good at. Try to focus on those things instead of the negative. Speak to a counselor a couple of times. It can't hurt but can surely help you to work through things by talking honestly to a neutral party that you can be totally open and honest with. Do something to help yourself so you can enjoy life more! Good luck.

NOOOOOOOOO! Everyone is insecure at one time or another! Unless they have antisocial or narcissistic personality disorder. Otherwise it's completely normal. If you are VERY insecure though, you may have a problem but that doesn't mean you're a bad person by ANY means! Does having depression make you a bad person? Does being shy make you a bad person? If anyone answers yes to those questions, they are most likely the "bad" people who try to make themselves feel better by putting others down.

But as the person said above me, this applies only to the people who genuinely have low self esteem and who don't try to make themselves feel better by putting others down. The others are bullies and I think have a lot more going on than JUST insecurity. But insecurity on its own is not immoral.

There's two types of insecure:

The internalized insecure 'good guy/girl':
Stay away from the rest. Hide yourself until you find yourself because basically the rest'll make mush of you.

The insecure acting out person:
Yep, that's bad.

The obscure small group that could be considered "the rest" is usually standing with their hands in the air going 'wtf'.
