I like to write poems and short stories and I'm really good at them and I'd like to submit some of them to a contest where you could earn money for them but I dont know of any contest! If anyone knows of any could you please let me know? I'd really appreciate it!

for your poetry co to www.creativecommunications.com, if they are good the poems will get published (sorry, no $$ though) but then you can say your are a published poet and can seek out publishers ........for short stories (depending on your age) go to stonesoup.com ....the creative communications i think has a story or essay section as well.

I have 4 publishings with creative communications.....there are poetry websites to where you can make your own poetry site.

I know that poetry.com used to run contests, but I am not sure if they do anymore. A lot of Fan Fiction sites run contests for gift baskets and such.
Fanfiction.net
Some journaling communtiies on sites like Live Journal run internal contests.

Publishers know about poetry.com. They won't consider you a published poet. Check out a book called "Poet's Market." It will give you all the information you need.

It may be a good experience for kids, a good place to see what others think of your poetry for everyone else. Go for it!

poetry.com is a scam.

Legitimate contests pay you, not the other way around.
