You have 16 thumbs up at this point! Lol! So don't worry about the thumbs down! You have to realize that there are actually people out there who like George Bush! Apparently they spend so much time on Yahoo! Answers they are totally uniformed! Also, your answer was one of the first responses which always get voted on the most, as I am sure you've probably noticed already! I certainly gave you a thumbs up!

It's just that if you say anything remotely edgy, people get annoyed. Bush is also a controversial topic on here that will send thumbs flying in all directions.
I once got like 9 thumbs down for saying I didn't like Paris Hilton.
Also, you can be sure that whenever you state your opinion on an opinion question, people will get offended and give thumbs down.

Two things:
1) A question like that is polarizing and those who "disagree" with you will smack you as they did (now up to 12)
2) As if thumbs down mean ANYTHING. I had a question with 9 downs and was still awarded Best Answer.

There is no way to anomously tell your friend that his gr is insane. You can try to talk to your friend and voice your concerns. Honestly you are going to have to let your friend discover that she is a nut job on his own, especially if he has deep rooted feelings for her. This is a very touchy situation and there is a possibility that you could lose your friendship.

Why always look at the negative? You got more thumbs up than you did down. Remember, the South will always support the nimrod that he is, as will his home state, which is pretty damn big. There are people who will always think he is a fantastic president and will remember him as just that. These are the same kind of people who put support the troops stickers on their SUV's but won't enlist. People are dumb, don't try to please all of them. You'll burn yourself out. I agree with you 100% but it's impossible to get 100% of people to agree with you.
Keep on saying what you belive, you are not insane.
