Want to buy a new home computer for a friend of mine. What is considered the best to buy? Where is the best store to buy it. I want it loaded and I want extented warranty, thanks for info. guys, HELP. I don't know much about computers

In my opinion the best home computer to buy would be a Desktop computer from the Dell Dimension Line. Most models are equipped to do most home computer activities, such as play games, do schoolwork, surf the web, play music, play videos, store and organize pictures. You can buy them online and customize them so you get exactly what you want. Or.. if you prefer buying pre-made models, I would buy them from Best Buy. Then again, thats just my opinion.

In all seriousness, Dell is hands down one of the most reliable outfits when it comes to home computers. My last 3 computers were from Dell and their extended warranty program is great. You can customize anything you want into your computer and they have them listed by price or by what you want to do with it.
So, no matter if price is the factor or burning DVD's and playing games online is what you're looking for, there should be a Dell that suits your needs. Good luck!

I think it all depends on what the comp is going to be used for. General all around use, I would say Dell or HP. If your friend is going to do lots of pics, movies and so on get an Imac, a nice all in one comp. If it is to be used for gaming, probably an Alienware comp is best.
The HP comp can be found at a BestBuy or computer store.
The Dell can be purchased and configured online at dell.com.
The Imac can be done at Apple.com or go to an Apple store if your near one.
The Alienware comp can be done at alienware.com.
All the comps have and option for extra time on the warranties, more RAM, etc.

i just bought an apple laptop i think they are great! if your a student then its a great deal you get 100 off and a free ipod and free printer! i have the macbook with upgrades because i heard it was good to spend alittle more and you can keep it longer! but i would say that most laptops are great and energy saving as opposed to desktops! so save your friend some money and buy her a laptop they aren't that more expensive

You definately have to get a Dell. They are now available at Wal-mart in addition to being able to order them over the internet at www.dell.com.
