I mean... Do they like actually being swatted at or something?

A lot of flies are attracted to the sweat on your skin which contains salts that are important in their diet. They want to lick you.

It only seems that way because that is when we notice the fly. It may have been there for a long time, just not close enough to annoy you.

They like to buzz around you to see if you have something to eat, or mainly just to bug you. That's why there called BUGS!!!
