1. It will be confiscated. it does not matter what the denominations are, that money is gone from you.

2. You will get the 3rd degree from the police, who initially think you are part of the criminal conspiracy, but lultimately (after you have been in their custody for several days) they will have every place you got or paid money in recent weeks, go there to confiscate any more currency they can find, which means some of your paid debts no longer paid, retroactively, and you have all the interests and penalties for not paying those debts on time.

3. You now have a bad reputation in the community. Even though the police may have cleared you, everyone else things you are a crook in which the police did not find the evidence needed to put you away for ever. Some people will decide to help the police by trying to gather evidence on you.

You get busted! Of course that usually doesn't happen if you manage to convince the police it really WAS accidental, like if you have a clean record and don't have a wad of other funny money in your wallet. But you're still out the dough. Under the law, the last person passing the bill takes the loss. Reality bites, you know?

Worst case is of course that you are prosecuted for the crime. Also it is a fedrale crime. Which means that you will do 80% of the time you are sentenced. (state crimes under five year sentence that is none aggrevated can be eligible for parole in six months) if you are charge with making the currency, using the money to by drugs, or say your buddy makes and you laundry it. Then that is organized crime.

For many crimes, you need to have intended to commit the crime to be considered guilty. If you did not know it was a counterfeit bill, then you will not be charged for using it. This is not the case for all crimes, sometimes you are expected to know that something is wrong, and you are expected to know what the law is.

Jail time is the worst that can happen.You would have to prove you did not know it was fake. the least would be that you would be out the money.

worst - prison , if you get caught you better figure out where you got that money , otherwise it is all on you
