Are you serious? While Posada is having a great year, and he is a great hitting catcher, there are few players in the game today that are as good as Jeter.
DJ can run, hit, hit for power, field, throw, etc...he is one of the best baserunners. There may not be a better 2 out hitter in the game either.
If I was a father of an upcoming baseball player, I would insist he watch how Jeter plays the game. He plays hard, smart baseball and he is a truely good for the game itself.
Not taking anything away from Posada, but Jeter is good in too many areas. Posada cannot run well, and he is not as good a pure hitter as Jeter is, even though he is hitting well this year.
Look at a player's stats as a whole, not just one year, if you really want to know who is better.

dam well both players are one of my favorite Yankees but i will go with Derek jeter hes a great captain and always seems to get a hit and what i like about posada how over the couple of years hes gotten older he has been a bigger run producer and hes having a great year and hes one of the Yankees besides Derek jeter that if he gets hurt or goes on the dl it will affect the Yankee line up tremendously but i will go with Derek jeter

Silly Billy!!!!! You can't make that comparison!!!! First off they are too close in age to each other. Second, they play on the same team in the same era, and face all the same pitchers. They both play baseball and hit at the plate. I'm gonna' have to agree with the other guys and say you're crazy!!!!!! Consider this though. Jeter will probably retire with close to or over 4,000 hits. He also has a better chance in getting more rings(Arod & him may someday tie the knot). When he gets inducted I doubt one critic will think, "You know Bob, I think Jorge Posada was a tad better."

Jeter...Obviously you're not a real Yankees fan or you'd know that Derek is the shortstop & Jorge is the Catcher for the Yankees.
