Turn OFF the TV, turn ON some good tunes (Irish punk rock, Motown, the Redheaded Stranger, ETC) get up & get moving(clean the house, water the plants, do my nails, annoy the cat, cook myself a special treat, whatever it takes)
and SING LOUD while doing it!
The main thing, I think, is to get up and get moving and to do something special for myself. "Special" need not mean "fattening" or "destructive" (like gorging on chocolate ice cream or getting blindly drunk.) My favorite spcial food-treats are chicken caesar salad and stuffed zucchini....they are not especially low-cal the way I make them but they are definitley better than a half gallon of Goo-Goo Cluster!!
Sing, move, treat yourself like the god/dess you are!!

Look up, The Lord is at hand, when he brought you to this he will surely take you thru this. Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding and he will make your path straight (meaning he will guide you). Rejoice in the Lord and shout aloud - The Joy of the Lord is my strength. Call on his name and he will answer you...God bless u

Don't focus on what is making you sad, keep yourself focused
on Jesus his love for you and his compassion will heal you and give your soul a lift. Read your Bible and talk with God he hears your cries and sees your tears. There is nothing you go through that he hasn't been through himself so he knows and understands your pain. Just give all your troubles, worries, and anxieties to him and he will lift your burden from you.

Usually I just cry, but if I can make myself get up and get out somewhere around other people I feel just fine.

I listen to relaxing music to cheer me up, I also write because I love it and it helps me feel better, and I just hope that things will be better tomorrow.
