The grip is tight. They realize it and also realize there isn't much they can do about it unfortunately. A documentary I saw on Tom DeLay has the line in it "He might be a son of __ but he's our son of a ___"

It is interesting to note that the leading candidates for the upcoming presidential primaries for the GOP are all fairly liberal. McCain, Giuliani, Romney are all middle of the road conservatives. Thus, I am not sure that your statement is true.

On the same token, Democrats do their best to sound more liberal. Clinton and Obama are the two front runners. They try to out due each other with more leftest statements. So it would seem that the Dems are moving further left. This would make it appear to you as though conservatives are going further right, but the reality is hard to accept for a lot of people.

Unfortuanly, not enough Republicans seen to be aware of how their party has been destroyed by the neocons. I just hope that they wake up to see the hate monglers who have hijacked the GOP and purge them from their party
