OK the facts are clear, tax REVENUES are UP - the tax cuts worked on the revenue side. Tax revenues keep increasing at a double digit clip while inflation is about 2.5%. Tax revenues keep increasing faster than anyone on either side expects. The CBPP says "of course revenues go up in a recovery" but the recovery is continuing well after a record-long series of overnight interest rate hikes, meaning it's fueled in large part by the tax cuts.
The problem is on the SPENDING side. And YES, BUSH HAS SPENT TOO MUCH AND IS STILL SPENDING TOO MUCH.
But you can't make that argument and then turn around and try to spend MORE than HE does!!!!!

Your facts are dead on. Tax cuts do work and always have. Dems have always been on the tax and spend side of the isle and unfortunately so is our current President. We definitely need to cut the spending side of our government....

Bush pushed the financial debate in this country FAR to the left of where it was. He thought he could buy popularity but he changed everything by not realizing that nothing will ever be "enough" for the Democrats. The government could ALWAYS do more, regardless of how much you give.
BTW: About a quarter or third of all Republicans say the government is too small and about 100% of Democrats agree. I hope you're investing with a recession in mind.

Bush's big mistake was trying to cross the bridge to the clowns on the left in congress. We are definitely spending too much! All of you clowns that are defending slick willy will remember that when Bush came into office he INHERITED a regression and growing deficit caused by the Clinton tax hikes.

Democrats would have never accumulated over a 7 trillion dollar war debt. When Clinton was in power economists were projecting America was going to have way too much money and power by 2010. At a G7 summit they were propositioning ideas about how to slow down the US dollar and spread it to the rest of the world. George Bush took power and everything crashed. Your facts are wrong. Bush is spending trillions of dollars on a war that he lied about. When democrats enter power yes they will have to spend the same amount of money as him to pay these crippling debts but they wont insite anymore wars.

They both spend too much. You expect it from Democrats but Bush should be ashamed of himself as a Republican.

my favorite is that in one sentence they say the war is too expensive and the next sentence says we need universal healthcare. estimates show that universal health care will cost 28 trillion dollars and thats low in my view but still that would be 280,000 years of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan combined
