If and when you can become pregnant depends on when you ovulate. Ovulation is the process in which the ovary releases an egg to meet with a sperm cell to be fertilized.
Most women ovulate on day 14-17 of their menstrual cycle (if they have a perfect 28 day cycle), but many women don't have a perfect cycle and ovulate at different times during their cycle. This being combined with the fact that sperm can be stored inside the female body for up to a week, waiting for an egg to come along, conception during menstruation is rare, but not impossible. If you were to have sex the day before you start your menstrual cycle and if for some reason you were to ovulate sometime during your period, you could become pregnant. If there is no egg present to fertilize, you cannot become pregnant, so you cannot become pregnant "365 days a year", as someone previously posted.
Unless you've carefully charted your ovulation cycle over the course of several months, hopefully with the help of a doctor, you should not use this knowledge as a form of birth control (which is called "natural family planning", and has a 20% failure rate, on average).
So to your answer, yes, you can become pregnant while you are menstruating for the reasons I listed above, but it's rare. Regardless of unwanted pregnancy occuring during this time being rare, you are still susceptible to STDs if you have unprotected sex and you should always, always use protection.

Yes you can. I know several women who have.
Menstruation usually stops when a woman is pregnant. However, in some cases, a woman might have a period with less blood or that lasts fewer days than usual and still be pregnant. Your confusion is understandable because these signs can lead women to believe they are not pregnant. However, various kinds of bleeding can occur in early pregnancy. Women can get some spotting in their first trimester:
* when the fertilized egg implants in the uterus;
* if the pregnancy is abnormal in any way [i.e., ectopic pregnancy (implantation outside of the uterus, such as in a fallopian tube), a threatening miscarriage]; or,
* from bleeding as part of their menstrual cycle (this is extremely rare).

A girl can get pregnant any time during the month. Yes chances are less during your period but the chance is always there.
This is why the calender method is one of the worst forms of birth control.. as it doens't work

the answer to this could not be!!!! you have some mild bleeding or recognizing that's oftentimes the effect of implantation or trauma from recent intercourse. A era is the physique's way of emptying the uterus- meaning there may well be no infant. all and sundry who tells you they had a era on an identical time as they have been pregnant is mendacity to you.

This is rare. But it does happen. I personally know one person to which this has happened. She was a co-worker and thought for sure she was safe.
It depends actually on when you ovulate. most women ovulate 14 days or so before we get our periods.

Yes. Sperm can live inside you until your period is over, and then fertilize the new egg.
