Be happy? Heck yeah
Nothing can fix his failures. Maybe he should admit them, that might help.

If you had a dumb shithead boss and he resigned, you would still think he was a dumb shithead boss would you not? Yes you would be happy he was gone, but NO you would not respect him because he was a dumb shithead boss in the first place and never will respect him unless he changed his ways. Resigning doesnt deserve respect, making an effort to change the situation does. Resigning = Quitting (on yourself, on your country)

I would be relieved.
Though I will never respect that cowardly lying p.o.s.
Engaging in an illegal invasion and occupation, failing to plan for an insurgency, and then refusing to leave will be Dubyas legacy. The pile of dead and broken bodies will haunt him until he dies - and hopefully afterwards.

If he admitted that he's a greedy, murderous moron, with his hand in the pocket of corporate America... that he hasn't the slightest regard for America or Americans... and he resigned? Yeah, my respect for the man would increase. Slightly.

I don't think Mr Bush resigning would make me respect him any more or less.

Chimpy, where's your suit?
Yes, resign and apologize. JFK's approval rating went up when he apologized and took responsibility for the Bay of Pigs. But resigning would be better, him and Cheney.

Sure. I'll buy that. If he resigned, I'd have more respect for him. More than nothing is still not necessarily very much, though.

I could never respect Bush, but I'd be slightly less disgusted with him and a bit happier.

No, because the only way he would resign is if he was told to do so by Dick C. and Daddy Bush.
