I can only speculate that many women work in service industry jobs that pay very low wages. It is a shame that employers in this sector do not recognize the contribution that the women who work for them make and pay a living wage.

Because there's the general belief that women interrupted their studies to find husbands and start families and therefore aren't as clever and dedicated. Hiring them for the better jobs is a waste because family responsibilities and duty to their husbands will keep them from travel, meetings, workday activities, and overtime. They will take time off for maternity leave and then divide their attention between family and work to the point where they aren't even 50% productive. They're emotional, spiteful and easily intimidated and don't know how to play with the big boys. They should stay home, tend to the kids, and let the men support the family--that's why men have the better salaries.
Disgusting, isn't it?

It takes more to shutup a man, since traditionally, he must make the family survived, while the woman remain at house for raising the kids.... Well thats a way before, but still bad habits are hard to reformed.
