This depends on her likes, one of my favorites is-
White lights in our screened gazebo- christmas lights around the edges, the table set with linens and nice table setting, and candles in the middle, no overwhelming flower bouquets, you wanna see each other, my favorite foods, that we could feed to each other, music that you can slow dance to. then after dinner go out to the lounge chairs where there is a bottle of champagne and star gaze.
We have a large fenced in yard so we have our own privacy.
It is great because it's not a one way romance, both parties are involved. The best part of romance is intimacy with your spouse, which after you are married and have children is hard to do

Are you wanting a romantic evening?
You can buy her a new evening dress or jewelry. Something she can wear and show off. Greet her with a dozen red roses, and the gift. Take her to a classy restaurant, order some champagne (whatever her taste may be) enjoy a nice dinner together focusing on each other. Go back home, light some candles, and run her a nice warm bath...enjoy the rest of your evening!
For me a romantic evening would be that, but with kids it's hard, and I'm pretty simple. I would be content with the roses, dinner and my husband focusing on just me for the entire evening.
Giving your wife your undying attention for an evening is the key!
Good luck!

First of all, stop referring to her as "the wife." That would be a major step in the right direction. Romantic? Call one of those theme hotels and reserve a room in a theme/color scheme that you know she will love. Before you take her to the hotel, shop for the following:

Bath and Body Works Spa Products

Silk Nightgown

Chocolates

Flowers.

Deliver all of the above to the hotel and have them in your room before she arrives.

Arrange to have room service deliver her favorite meal, and...

Tell her that she may do anything she wishes with the evening (even if it means that you have to watch 28 reruns of "Seinfeld, it should be her night).

Don't know how expensive you want to go, but a diamond heart necklace, a diamond eternity ring. Less expensive, make a beautiful dinner with champagne or sparkling cider. Romantic get a way to a fancy hotel. Those are a few of my favourites.

I think the most romantic thing my husband could get me is a nice dress (one that he'd like to see me in) and a dinner date. If you are worried about getting the right size, check the sizes on dresses she has (sizes vary between brands so try to stick with brands she's bought before. That saves you from getting something too big or too small)

Women can be simple creatures. I suggest cooking her favorite meal or taking her favorite eating spot. You should dance and remind yourselves of why you feel in love in the first place. A warm bubble bath or a steamy massage to show your appreciation will have her satisfied and in the mood for you. Shower her with your love. Marriage is something taken lightly . I am glad you are trying maintain yours.

depends on the woman, for my wife it would be a picknich on a blanket at the park or in the woods, or knowing what her fav candy is and picking up a few pieces of it when your at the convience store, little things that let her know your thinking about her other than when your horney or hungry
