First, there are times when talking can help and times when it doesn't. Certain times of the month you can be a little more sensitive and down because of your hormones. There is a blood test you can have done to see "which" hormones you are lacking and there is a book "The Hormone Solution" by Thierry Hertoghe, MD., that has a questionnaire that can help determine what your lacking. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm here to talk if you need it. I've been there myself.

I try to sort out the problems that I am having in my life and solve them one at a time. I ussually don't get depressed unless I am overwhelmed.

Cry hysterically then watch my favorite TV shows with a big bag of Lay's chips followed by a xanax and about 10 hours of sleep.

think of the fun times with family and call them up and talk about what was fun then and laugh at what you did that was so embarassing. or call up a friend that makes your day turn around. as for me i make my child laugh but doing something she'll laugh had about and realize why i am here...children are something to realize what life is worth living. if you havea chlid play with them or if there is a nephew or niece take them out and they'll look up to you.
any better?

I don't know. That would require me to have a period when I'm not depressed to know the difference. I guess I'd drink. Or eat. Or abuse drugs like Percodan.

I wallow and then I do something for me. I take in a funny movie or I get my nails/hair done or I go out and travel a bit... just get away from life for awhile. And, when that doesn't help, I just spill my heart out to someone.

I sleep a lot. Emotional turmoil can be more draining than actual physical activity.
