I am a high school senior and am planning to study a 3 year microbiology course for college with a combination of three subjects. The college offers microbiology, chemistry and zoology or botany. Can anyone suggest me the better choice in between zoology and botany ?

Zoology is more hands on. I took both courses, and I thought Zoology was more fun because we got to dissect animals and get our hands dirty. In Botany, we looked at plants under the microscope.
I thought Zoology was more fun because the way animals interact was more interesting to me than the way that plants interact with the environment.

i don't know, botany is interesting but animals tend to have a strong psychological effect on people which can turn into an interest in them. I like zoology better but that's just me.

My favorite is Immunology/microbiology hands down, but I remember you have to take all that other stuff too. I personally, liked zoology better because of dissection and variety of dissection. Botany was decent but one plant kind of runs into the next less exciting to crack that book open before test time. Micro is great-Have fun

You have to decide this one for yourself. The decision will be easier if you like natural history, i.e. what interests you more , the plant or animal world. Some think that zoology is more interesting because of the dissections. However, if you don't enjoy "live" biology labs, with living critters, or the smell of preservatives, then maybe plant science is for you. Actually,
plants, by virtue of their diversity ,are very interesting.
Also, consider your future plans after college, which discipline
would be more advantageous for a career path? Your call.

Botany is way better, But I just love plants. Try taking up Ichtheology

It depends on your own choice..... As for my opinion, I think Botany is more interesting...though many people find it boring, But many people also like zoology

I took Botany when I had those two choices when I entered college. Mainly because I am a vegetarian and didn't want to dissect animals. I liked learning about the plants, very interesting to me.

In my view zoology is far better than botany since it is mainly concerned with animal kingdom and moreover i just love in knowing about animals life more than plants....................
in a nutshell i can say that " botany sucks"

Zoology! Animals are awesome. Plus, this opens a lot of career paths to you... personally, I don't really like plants that much...
