The Mists of Avalon comes to mind as being among the longest, I think it's around 900 pages long. Or perhaps the Lord of the Rings trilogy, no idea on the page count. Thinking about Harry Potter as well, the first 6 books add up to almost 3500 pages. That's a pretty significant number of pages, especially considering how many people have read the series. And there's another 784 pages to go before the end!

I never count pages, but here are the longest ones:

*The Bible - I only read it straight through once a long time ago. Since then, I kind of jump around.

*The Harry Potter series (since people seem to be counting it) - A day or two per book. Can't wait for the last.

*The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - A couple weeks, maybe?

~The man without qualities by Robert Musil -- 2500pages
~A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth -- 1500 pages
~Les Miserables by Victor Hugo --1450 pages

and if I include In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust, then.. 3500pages easy!

Hehe. I love chunky reads ;) The great thing about all these books is that they become part of your life while you read them. Because it takes so long to finish them, you can really get completely absorbed by the story, and when you open the book, you get the feeling that you're entering this parallel life of yours, created through reading! Or is it just me?

(but I honestly wouldn't recommend The Man without qualities which is unfinished, and can be really unbelievably tedious.. If it hadn't been for my English degree, I wouldn't've read all of it!)

Currently Reading: The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami.. a mere 650pages
