Anybody want to explain to me whether or not I'm right or wrong here...I'd like to know what you guys think.

Here is the question:

Why are people whining about Pujols not playing, LaRussa obviously had a reason???

Here was my response (I added details after recieving 2 thumbs down):

Pujols shouldn't have been there in the first place...they had enough 1st basemen on the National League roster. Eric Byrnes should have been on the team instead.

I get 2 thumbs down for that response huh? Does anybody not agree with me that Derrek Lee and Prince Fielder aren't doing better this season than Albert Pujols? Why have 3 1st basemen? You can't sit here and tell me that Eric Byrnes did not deserve to be on that roster...compare his numbers to Rowand...how about Freddy freakin' Sanchez! How about Pujols? Lets get realistic people...c'mon!

I agree with you and understand your response matty...but why have 3 first basemen? Didn't Isringhausen make the team? If not, he should have. Also, Sanchez shouldn't have been there even with the 1 player from each team rule...Tom Gorzelanny should have been there.

The rules are that there has to be a player from each team reperesented in the All-Star game, even though they werent voted in. Thats why Freddy freakin Sanchez was there along with a few other players that may have taken other more deserving players spots. So even though Byrnes should have been there, he wasnt for that reason. I agree that Prince Fielder and Derek Lee should have been there. The problem is that the All-Star voting system isnt perfect and every year somebody more deserving than the others who are there get in. It happens every year and will continue to happen as long as they use this system.

The ASG is all about the fans views, and I don't believe you're going to find a lot of fans say Byrnes should be in over Pujols. Plus, it was the players who selected Pujols to the team. Rowand is one thing, but Sanchez and Pujols are completly different positions and there needs to be enough back ups for all positions.

But I really don't know how you're going to say Byrnes over Pujols, in the three traditional offensive catagories, Pujols is playing better this season.

But most importantly, the St. Louis Cardinals needed a representative on the team, so it had to be Pujols.

Why did you get thumbs down? I don't know, why do 90% of yahoo answers users use the system to ask opinion questions and to skirt on research burdens?

If you don't agree with them even though you do give FACTS, they still get mad. That's the way of Yahoo Answers. No one wants intelligent dialogue or conversation, just pat me on the back and say I am right. Typical. I got thumbs down for actually giving out compliments to an opposite team today as well. Go figure. People can be close minded. I was annoyed by it and almost added something to my original response which would have responded to the thumbs down, but said to myself, ahh screw it, they are not worth my time.

you recognize, I basically reported the comparable ingredient with yet another answerer on right here. I offered an answer, properly theory out reaction, gave evaluations on the two sides without being mean OR insulting ...... and that i've got been given a 0.5 dozen thumbs down. THEN .... i flow off on somebody and say right here ..." you're ignorant, can not understand what you study and are patently 0.5 deaf ..... and you tell a awful fairy tale." I have been given 0.5 a dozen thumbs up for that AND a ultimate reaction! it is Politics and faith .... people like to work out animosity in those 2 sections. they like seeing people mean and insulting related to the flaws that are the main severe to them. So, i'm attempting to think of of something impolite and nasty to declare to you.,,,... 'Oh, ok, how approximately this..... "you're a pinko terrorist Nazi on account which you reported faith is usually used to sell hate, you do in contrast to Jesus and are advertising Liberal political evaluations!" How replaced into that?

idk. pujols did have good numbers. not as good as his past few seasons, but still good

.310 BA, 16 HR (low), 52 RBI and 51 RS

eric byrnes

.306 BA, 14 HR, 49 RBI and 53 RS

those are dead even stats. but u know that having pujols in the AS Game means more money in merchandising and more fans watching than if he wasnt.

Don't worry about it - I get thumbs down for the right answer all the time. If someone disagrees with you, you'll get a negative no matter how factual or correct your answer might be. It's the downside of this site.

They do it mostly out of spite or it's just that certain people don't respect the opinion of others.

That question was asked by "The Saint (Veritas & ...)"
He's extremely opinionated .. and probably draws those who agree with him to his questions.
