By the way, you guys are geeks.
Organic ester sysnthesis... made the one they use to flavor those orange carnival peanuts. Drooled the whole experiement.

Synthesizing lidocaine (the numbing stuff) in college organic chem lab and then a bunch of us rubbing it on our TA's fingers.

Some kids put it in thier mouth but I totally wasnt feeling that.

I loved teaching intro chemistry and doing all sorts of experiments. It was also fun to see the students discover.
In research, my team discovered an enzyme where ascorbic acid is used at the cellular level. mono-dehydro ascorbic acid transhydrogenase.
