Probably put it in the garbage so kitty couldn't reach it again. Burning it like that is nasty!!!

Probably in the bin if it was a nasty starling or grackle, but a hummingbird or nice bird, I would give a decent burial.

My cats are always bringing little presents for me... birds, mice, frogs... I just stick them in the bin,

I wouldn't touch it. It would eventually disintegrate on it's own, and I'm fine with that. Let nature take it's course.
