Could simply be the things you don't see. He may be the better performer in practice. While I agree I'm still shocked to see he's still starting, this is a reason I could see why he is the starting QB in Chicago.

Rex Grossman, however horrid he may have been in those 5 games last year, also displayed flashes of brilliance in 7 others. Granted, some of the teams had terrible Ds, but he still destroyed them the way a good QB should. Rex just finished his first full season as a QB, and I think a few of the games just got to him and he felt pressured to be perfect in those. For instance, the game vs. Arizona was on MNF and the Bears were undefeated. The Miami game was when the Bears were still undefeated, and the last time the Bears were undefeated that late in the season, Jim McMahon and Walter Payton lost to Miami (see the coincidence?) The Pats game was on Sunday Night and was billed as a chance for Rex to show his worth against a top D. The Green Bay game, he admitted to not being focused. The only game i have no explanation was the Minnesota game. I think Rex will be a bit more consistent this year than last year, but not great. He's still undergoing growing pains and this was the 1st time since his soph. year @ college that he had the same offense 2 years in a row.

definite Grossman will start up the 2008 season, till they %. up a veteran QB. in the event that they draft a QB he will sit down for a great variety of the season, possibly the comprehensive twelve months. Kyle Orton hasn't shown that he's in a position to step up and be a beginning QB, maximum of his time decrease than midsection replaced into limited to hand-offs. Brian Griese will in all possibility be decrease. The Bears have not had a franchise QB on account that Sid Luckman. McMahon performed properly while he replaced into healthful.

Do not kid yourself, the Bears made it to the super bowl in spite of Wrecks Grossman. The defense is due all the credit for the Bears success, that and special teams play. Grossman is the weakest link by far. Why else didn't they sign him to a long term contract when he's in his final year

HMMMMM..... ?

The only thing I can figure is that Wrecks caught his coach doing something illegal and has pictures of him in the act.

I thought they might have brought in Garcia after the way he played for the Eagles. Again Wrecks must have pictures of the coach.

Wait and see Bear fans, I give it until week two before you all start calling for his head.

After watching Griese in Denver...not sure he would be much better. Please feel welcome to have Plummer if you can talk him out of retirement, though...in fact, I suspected that he was going to Chicago, not Tampa, for next season.

This being said, I was also surprised the Bears didn't do something about Grossman this spring. Thought maybe Trent Green, Matt Schaub, Culpepper, or someone would end up in Chicago...suppose Culpepper still could.

The Bears' management seems to be holding fast the their identity...that of a team who overcame a 24 point deficit without an offencive touchdown against the Cards. In this regard, QB is not the most important position on the team.

Leave Rex Grossman alone. Didn't he get the Bears to the Super Bowl. i know they said sometimes you have to do enough not to loose instead of to win but I remember that throw he made at the end of the Seattle game that either put the Bears up or tied the game. I don't know. But I like Rex Grossman so I hope he has a breakout year this season. He has has some great games it is just that his bad games are terrible,

It's because Chicago doesn't have any idea what a good QB is. They could care less if Mary Poppins was their starter. Since McMahon they haven't had squat for a QB. And he wasn't that good. This is why they don't win the Super Bowl.

You could say that last year was technically Rex's rookie year being healthy the entire year. The Bears are going to give him one more chance in light of the team's success last year. He has the ability to excel. Also just as likely to meltdown. He led all QB's last year in # of games with a passing rate over 130 but also led in most games with a rating below 40. It's all in his head...if he can sort out his psyche, we won't have to rely on Devin and the defense to win most of our games.

Rex is the QB until he has a bad outing and the defense doesn't step up for him and win the game.
